WHAAAAAT'S
INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR in TAIPEI

5/7-9台湾のアートフェアに出品します。
（キュレーション：MUZI ART・Emigre Collection）

今回選ばれたのは2012-2015期間の作品群となります。

2004年からコンセプトにした
[SKINSHIP BURNY]=スキンシップレスによる様々な弊害
というアダルトチルドレンの基盤を作り出した家庭、社会への批判や
自身の生きる様を表現してきましたが
改めて見直すと、とても抽象的であることを改めて実感しました。

90年代に初めてnew yorkで見たグラフィティーの
「残すことを目的としない表現」
というものに衝撃を受けたこと、
幼少期に体験した行為や文化が無意識にもちいれられていたことを
今更ながら読み取りました。

そしてこんなことを思い出しました。
2013年にパリで展示をした際のインタビューで
村上隆さんのスーパーフラットについて聞かれた時に
日本＝漫画、アニメからの影響やkawaiiカルチャーの分類の話だろうと
スルーした無知さ。

村上さんが欧米の美術の文脈に落とし込んだ日本のサブカルチャー、kawaii
スーパーフラットの要素が私の作品が見てとれたということを全く理解していなかったわけです。

というのも、私は単に社会批判的な要素として、企業アイコンをパンク的にパロディーに表現したり
韓国語の文字を作品の中に入れる、オタク的要素、また外国人が日本の漫画を真似して描いた
未完成な絵のようなキャラクターを入れ込んでいたいたので
それを「日本の文化に影響を受けました」というくくりで
分類や紹介されるのがとても嫌だったのです。
特にkawaiiへの概念の違いにはピリピリしていました。
だからこの時期ロサンジェルスから声がかかり契約となったわけですね。
（今更？て声が聞こえてきそうです）

しかしなぜこのように無知で無計画で、自分を自己プロデュースできていないのか？
私は長い間、知識を得ること（文章を読むことが出来なかった）を拒否し
感情優先で創作してきたからです。
怠け者でもありますが、必要と思いながら読み始めても数行読むのですが
胃が浮くような不快感が出て辛抱できずリタイヤ。
これは本当に悩みました＞＜

その原因が、自己肯定感が低く成長することにブロックをかけていた
ということを様々なセラピーから脳科学などを学ぶことで真に理解し
近年やっとそれを超えることが出来、俯瞰して物事を見ることが出来始めました。
このアートフェアはそのタイミングで過去を分析する機会をくれました。

過去は未来の道と繋がっているので
私のテーマである「SKINSHIP BURNY]は
個人の感情のような視点から、社会にもっとリンクしたものに変化していくでしょう。

だから、このアートフェアは、あの時代を切り取ったものであり
そこからつながる未来への球根として見ていただけたらと思います。

Criticism of the family and society that created the foundation of adult children
I have expressed my own way of life
I realized once again that it is very abstract.
The graffiti I saw in new york for the first time in the 90's
Expressions not intended to be left
I was shocked by that
The act and culture that I experienced in my childhood unconsciously appeared
I read it now.

And I remembered this.
In an interview when exhibiting in Paris in 2013
When asked about Takashi Murakami's superflat
Japan = manga, influence from anime and classification of kawaii culture
Through ignorance.

Kawaii, a Japanese subculture that Mr. Murakami put into the context of Western art
I didn't understand at all that the elements of superflat were visible in my work.

Because I just express the corporate icon in a punk parody as a social criticism element.
Geeky elements that include Korean characters in the work, and foreigners imitating Japanese manga
I was just putting in an unfinished picture.
That's why at this time, Los Angeles called out and signed a contract.

Why was it so ignorant and unplanned?
I refused to gain knowledge (cannot read) for a long time
This is because I created it with an emotional priority.
He had a low sense of self-affirmation and was blocking his growth.
And in recent years, I have finally been able to exceed that, and I have begun to be able to see things from a bird's-eye view.
This art fair gave me the opportunity to analyze the past at that time.
The past is connected to the path of the future.

And various learnings that I noticed in this block, especially brain science
My theme "SKIN SHIP BURNY"
It will change to a different expression.
Therefore, I hope this art fair will be a valuable opportunity to get to know this era.
I think it is a group of works like bulbs that connect to the road to the future.
